Fix the clock, then finish setting up the erase tool.

If Setup tools reports a signature that is not valid yet, and timedatectl shows NTP service: n/a, automatic time synchronization is unavailable. The session clock may be behind even if its displayed hour looks familiar.

One-time clock correction

  1. Stay connected to Wi-Fi. Download the small repair below. Keep phones disconnected while installing restore tools.

  2. Open a terminal and run:
    sudo python3 -I ~/Downloads/garry-clock-fix.py
  3. After Garry clock corrected and verified, return to Phone & Tablet Reset → Setup & help → Setup tools.

The helper compares UTC dates from Garry HQ and Google over certificate-verified HTTPS. It changes the current session clock only after the sources agree. It keeps package-signature checks enabled. It does not format drives or reset a phone, and it does not install an automatic time service.

If it reports a failed check, show the exact message; do not move the clock to an arbitrary future date or disable signature checks.

Continue to the erase workflow

Once Setup tools succeeds, close and reopen Phone & Tablet Reset. Use the guide for the specific model to put one iPhone or iPad into Recovery Mode, connect it using a data cable, and select Detect device → Open erase confirmation. Review the detected device and follow its explicit erase confirmation.

Erasing deletes local data and the screen passcode. Activation Lock may still require the linked Apple Account. Physical-device restore compatibility has not yet been verified for your model.
