← USB downloadsGarry Physical Access Check
A test you run from Garry USB on a computer you own or are authorized to assess. The ordinary check needs no remote agent or preinstalled Windows software.
What it proves
Windows drive read without signing in means the tool read one byte of the fixed Windows OS file Windows/explorer.exe while Windows was not running. It discards that byte. This does not demonstrate Windows account sign-in, a recovered password or access to every private file.
Encryption detected means access was not tested. Inconclusive means the test could not establish access; it is not a pass.
Install without Rufus
Install Garry Updates once, then use Check → Download → Install for next restart. This cumulative release adds the physical-access tool, computer-security report, updater and boot-recovery menus. Wi-Fi/internet, supported FAT boot media and writable full persistence on the same USB are required.
If Garry cannot boot, use the offline security-suite ZIP on a working computer. Read its README, confirm the actual USB drive letter, run the dry run and then apply. No formatting or repartitioning is performed.
Run a clear demonstration
- Optional: in Windows, use the demo marker kit to create a harmless random test code. Photograph the displayed code. This is test data, not a password.
- Shut down Windows normally, boot Garry USB, and open Garry Physical Access Check.
- Select the computer’s internal Windows partition and confirm its full device path. The tool mounts it read-only, checks the fixed OS file and, when present and valid, shows the same demo code.
- Save the local result. A cleanup warning takes priority; resolve the identified mount before repeating the test.
The optional marker is not needed for the normal OS-file test. The tool does not reset passwords, read credential stores, unlock BitLocker, repair Windows or collect private files.
